How to increase your memory power?

how? some people could memorize a whole book in just a period of seconds. my teacher told me that most left handers have better memories. and i noticed that too. some people could just look at a page and remember the whole thing. they memorize it differently. they sort of photostated it into thier minds. like they looked at something then photostated it into their mind and when they need it they flip thru their brain and find the page. is there a way to be able to do that? will writing with your left hand (using your right brain) increase the possibility of doing that? How to increase your memory power?
Rember things by chucking, so turning the book in to chunks to rember. How to increase your memory power?
read until u unstand or just repeat it many time until u know u remember it
Play lots of memory games, like the most popular, memory match. Play memory games using numbers and practice remembering things. Acting in a stage play is a good way to keep your memory fresh. I know cause I do it LOL!
walk into a room and give yourself 30 seconds to take in every possible detail you can remember. after the 30 seconds have passed exit and write down a list of everything you saw and remember. if you do this once or twice a day your memory will increase exponentially. eventually you will see that you can remember quite a bit of detail.
use your brain to learn new areas of knowledge - make it work
well if you are looking to memorize a book this may not help but i was told that if you write on a yellow note pad with a black pen you will memorize your information better than you would normally would. hope this helps!
ignore the left handed thing, i'm left handed and it doesn't have anything to do with memory. language - maybe because language is on the left side of the brain.

Improve memory by - being in the same context as when you learned the memory in the first place (even your body context - e.g. alcohol lol), encode via semantic methods - e.g. elaboratively, imaginatively etc, and chunking helps store more. Link with past memories and practice retrieving all the time.

few people have photographic memory, except perhaps those with autism.
don't smoke pot.
