Lol. Thanks! (It's my first best answer.) And here I thought I had offended you.

You may have already found it at Wikipedia, but just in case here's the article pertaining to the second part of your question. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/L鈥?/a>

civilization that's all it just happens!
I actually would like to know the same thing. I think it is just based on habit because I know someone who can write with both. I would like to learn how too.
The best way is to write your name with both hands at the same time. You will write your name right with your right hand and backwards with your left but when you get better you can write forward with your left.
tie up the hand you usually use for a few days......

and your brain will start working towards training your other hand

you take the course of '; least effort..';

that is why...
I think if you just start using it more than your right or as much, you'll get used to it, you lef thand muscles will develop memory patterns such as writing. That hows people learn to type. THrough muscle memory.

Pretty soon you can become ambidextrous!
when you have time, just pick up the pen/pencil and start writing with your left hand, at first it will look un-natural, keep going, it takes time. Some people are ambidextrous naturally. They don't have to work at it as hard. this is why people are either righty's or lefty's, I am a semi ambidextrous righty, my hubby is a semi ambidextrous lefty, it is a very interesting thing to see sometimes
Stop using your right hand! No, seriously... just practice.

Most people only use 1 hand because both sides of the brain can't work at once (or so I hear). Something to do with your motor skills.

I'm sort of ambidexter. I mostly use my left hand to write, eat, brush my teeth (and wipe my @$$). I brush my hair, play sports (bowling, softball) and do some misc stuff (like holding the tv remote or the computer mouse) with my right.

My brothers are also ambidexters, except that they're right handed. My boyfriend in only left handed. He's useless with his right hand.
Since you draw with the right hand, try substituting with the left hand when the other gets tired. Guess I'm fortunate to be ambidextrous. Can draw and write with both but when in the first grade, (eons ago) teachers slapped us with a ruler for using the left hand.
