Is it harmful to practice writing with your left hand if you're right-handed?

I'm practicing writing with my left hand... I've written a page a day for 33 days, and I'm liking it... Though my writing isn't getting better, I'm going faster and it just feels good... My method of learning also amuses me, as I learn stuff from it... But, today, my friend saw me practicing while she was at my house, and told me that it'll make me dumb. I have read this:

and I'm pretty sure that she's wrong, but it does make sense in a weird way... Like, she said if I use my left hand a lot, then I won't think the same way I do... I'm like, the second/third-best, one of those straight-A people (ehe..) but I want to learn how to write with my left hand... I'm just worried I won't be able to think as... uhh... smartly as I do in like, math contests and such.. xPIs it harmful to practice writing with your left hand if you're right-handed?
What your friend said is completely untrue. The only thing that practicing writing with your left hand will do is make your left hand motor skills better. It's actually a good way to work the right half of your brain (each half of the brain controls the opposite side of the body), so it's helpful. Hope this helps! Is it harmful to practice writing with your left hand if you're right-handed?
Actually using the opposite hand has the opposite affect of making you ';dumb';. It creates mental and physical stimulation. It requires more thought and muscle coordination. The idea of right and left sides of the brain meaning different things is a myth, there are no right sided are more science based or left sided people more humanities based (or whatever it is).

So it won't make you smarter to write with your opposite hand but it will stop your brain from becoming bored by learning the new reflexive muscle movements.
No, research shows that exercises which require you to manipulate both hands improve creativity and logic. I mean you don't see many dumb pianists around do you? You will do better in maths and science if you practise using your left hand.
